FINDING OUR HAPPY PLACE
Finding a happy place—whether metaphorical or literal—means something different to each of us. But one thing remains true: having a space or practice that replenishes us can ease our stress and bring us back to center. It gives us room to regroup, to breathe, and to realign with what matters most.
This isn’t new information for many of us. We’ve heard it time and again. But how many of us have made visiting our happy place a consistent part of our self-care practice?
This morning, I went for a walk. I found myself in a state of deep peace and relaxation as the sun beamed gently on my skin and the wind offered just enough breeze to soften the heat. I poured libation to several trees along the path, eventually standing barefoot on the roots of one, hugging her and letting my body rest in her embrace.
With so much happening in the world—and perhaps even within our own circles—we all need a place to retreat to. A place to calm our nervous system, defragment our minds, and ground ourselves back into our power.
As a Sensually Empowered Woman (SEW), I know it’s vital that I keep myself nourished—not just with water, but with experiences that keep me vibrant on a soul-deep, cosmic level. Meditation, reading, dancing, altar time, meaningful moments with sisterhood, and writing are just a few of the ways I come home to myself.
What about you?
Where is your happy place?
